WHAT IS ZIPACK?

ZIPACK is a subdividable pack in pre-cut or pre-perforated shrinkable film, separable in submultiples or portions of 2 bottles each, easily transportable by the consumer.

With this characteristic which allows the division or separation of the usual 6 bottles multipack or  wraparound in 3 bipack or sections of 2 bottles each, as well as providing an easy-open feature with its Picpack alternative application, Zipack represents in the beverage market either for soft drinks or for mineral waters and more in general in the packaging market, a real Packaging Innovation, such as it was, in the same markets the switch of  from “crown cork” to “screw cap” !

The subdivision of a multiple container (Zipack alternative) and/or the easy opening feature of a package (alternative Picpack) represents benefits to consumer of a “permanent” kind such for instance it is the handle of a wraparound put on the pack by the proper handler unit. All benefits of this kind, to give their best results, must be extended to all the production brought to the market and all the year long. That’s why their cost per pack to be acceptable must be quite low.

Different, on the contrary, is the function of regrouping systems for bottles, cans and other containers, either those utilising a sticker wraparound label, like for instance, Twin pack, either those utilising a shrinkable tubular belt, which are to be considered as benefits to the consumer of a “promotional kind”. Their application is by definition a temporary application, limited to a specific period of time also for a cost reason.

With the Zipack and Picpack systems used as "Permanent" utilities, consumer will appreciate purchase by purchase the easy opening feature or the separation of the pack in bipack or portions of 2 bottles thus learning to purchase 2 bottles instead of just 1.

Note: Zipack and/or Picpack have been chosen till now by companies like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Danone, Lactel, Hoop, Tymbark, Zbyszko, Sanpellegrino for bottles, cans and other containers; this in countries like Austria, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Poland, Rumania, Spain, Ukraine for mineral waters, soft     drinks, juices, milk and other beverages.
